Golden Globes fashion

Award season, a.k.a. red carpet fashion season, kicked in with the Golden Globes ceremony last night.

Usually a great night in fashion but this year was a bit boring in my opinion. Nevertheless, some ladies saved the night. My favorite looks of the night:

Luckily there was red carpet risk taker Jennifer Lopez in a Giambattista Valli gown. It’s nothing like she ever wore before, and she made it work with her confidence. Best dressed of the night hands down. Fellow Jennifer, Lawrence, spotted a very interesting Dior number. Something fresh and unique. A beautiful golden Calvin Klein dress was seen on Brie Larson. Don’t if she should have been the one wearing this but it’s a real nice dress for sure!

Also really enjoyed Jane Wu’s metallic look. Taraji Henson was a vision in white. The fabric attached to her dress blow up every time the Empire actress made a move. Dolce & Gabbana designed the gown Kate Bosworth slipped in, one of my favorites of the evening.

A quite simple yet sexy look was seen on Olivia Wilde by Michael Kors. Another metallic one I loved was the Naeem Khan dress Portia Doubleday rocked. Amy Adams brought a splash of color to the red carpet in her Atelier Versace look.

Orange Is The New Black actress Laverne Cox made it work in her white dress. Especially the color of Carly Chaikin’s dress is what drew my attention. Jada Pinkett Smith walked the carpet in a Versace number.

Michael Costello & Michael Cinco spring/summer 2016

Michael Costello and Michael Cinco might be pretty new to the general public. Although Costello is becoming a more and more familiar name on the red carpet lately. You might also know him from Project Runway.

Anyways, both Michael’s design aesthetic is appealing to me. Their design complet a women’s curves and they came along with a certain sexyness and a level of glamour and luxury.

My favorite looks from their latest collections:

Herve Leger spring-summer 2016 ready to wear

Another one of my favorite runway collections for spring-summer 2016 (ready to wear) is Herve Leger.

The always sexy outfits are the type of designs I like. I feel like I’m seeing several elements from previous collections in this one, but hey it totally works!

A woman in a Herve Leger piece attracts the camera, being on stage or out and about.

Balmain ready to wear spring-summer 2016

Fashion week season is over, with its many runway shows all over the globe. One of my favorite collections for spring-summer 2016 has to be Balmain.

Olivier Rousteing did it again: he delivered a flawless, glamorous, red carpet ready collection. The French designer label has a huge year, as its collection with H&M drops next week which is also pretty amazing.

My favorite pieces:

NYFW: The Blonds spring 2016

We’re in the middle of New York fashion week! The most exciting show to me, so far, was the spring 2016 show of The Blonds.

Designers David and Philipe hit the nail on the head. I really love 90% of the pieces. In signature The Blonds style the collection includes edgy, over the top pieces with an overall glamour feel. Totally suitable for female pop stars to perform. Hello JLo’s Vegas residency 😉

This collection features lots of gold, which gives it a luxe feel. Makeup is based on Cleopatra and like always all models were strutting the runway in Louboutin shoes. My fav looks below, this time it almost includes the entire colletion:

Fav song of the moment: Justin Bieber – What Do You Mean?

I honestly can’t get enough of Justin Bieber’s new single What Do You Mean? Bieber grew on and I like his ‘new’ sound.

To me the song sounds very fresh and has slick beat combined with the sound of a ticking clock. Overall a really catchy song. It seems like the world agrees with me as this song hit the #1 spot in several countries already: the US (making it his first #1 single), the Netherlands, the UK and Australia.

Listen (and watch) and judge yourself:

Fresh music: Tobias – Back In The Day

He used to be my favorite JLo dancer back in the day but now Brandon Barton steps behind the mic himself. Tobias is his artist name through which he just released his first single Back In The Day including a music video.

As I mentioned before he used to dance for Jennifer Lopez (think Do It Well, Hold It Don’t Drop It videos and numerous performances) but also showed off his dancing skills with The Pussycat Dolls, Rihanna, Janet, Chris Brown and Missy Elliott just to name a few. I met him a few years ago in LA and he is such a cool and down to earth guy.

I have to say that I really like the song, the beat is infectious. This guy deserves nothing but the best and success. Take a listen yourself:

Ciara’s Dance Like We’re Making Love video

Ciara delivered the hottest video of the year so far this week! Dance Like We’re Making Love is the 2nd single of her latest album Jackie.

Dave Meyers directed the visually stunning video! Especially the pool scenes are flawless. You can see CiCi in several outfits strutting, dancing and posing. Check it out yourself:

Couture by Zuhair Murad & Alexandre Vauthier

Zuhair Murad and Alexandre Vauthier nailed their fall 2015 couture collections. They design exactly the type of womenswear I like: sparkles, luxury, glamour, rich materials and accentuating curves.

The high fashion pieces Murad presented are pretty colorful with the usual sparkle effect. Evening gowns, mini dresses and catsuits he has it all. Love that he used some fur elements as well. My favorites:

I am crazy about Alexandre Vauthier’s fall 2015 couture collection as well! From the detailed rocker pants and the fur coats to the fringe and luxury belts I love it all. As a big fan a red colored pieces lately I totally appreciate the red outfits, and of course you can never go wrong with black. My personal picks:

Zuhair Murad resort 2016

Zuhair Murad recently presented his resort 2016 collection. It has no specific theme which allows the designer to present floral, glamorous, graphic and shiny pieces. Like always it is about curvaseous body of a woman.

The stand out pieces of the collection according to me:
